This is the first year that CYPCLC plans to offer full scholarships to first-time CYPCLC conference attendees. The purpose of the scholarships is to encourage attendance by diocesan representatives with limited professional development support; to introduce attendees to CYPCLC with the aim of promoting participation; and to foster greater diversity in CYPCLC and the profession. The scholarship includes the attendee's conference fee plus the cost of travel and lodging. 
The First Time CYPCLC Attendee Scholarship is open to any diocesan representative leading the Child & Youth Protection efforts whose diocese may be limited in financial resources.  Applicants may self-select to apply for this scholarship. 

 

To be eligible for the First Time CYPCLC Attendee Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Be a first-time CYPCLC Annual Conference attendee 

• Be a full-time diocesan employee 

• 3+ years of experience in your current diocesan position

• Diocesan budgetary reasons is the primary reason why the applicant would not attend CYPCLC

• Submit the 1st Time Attendee Scholarship application form (see below)

• If selected, applicant must submit a written review about their CYPCLC experience

Funding for scholarships will hopefully come from a combination of contributions from our regular sponsors from previous CYPCLC conferences, support from additional donors, and donations from other dioceses. Full scholarships include conference registration and travel/hotel assistance.

 

Eligible candidates must submit their application by November 11th, 2016. The number of available scholarships will be determined by the generous contributions from our sponsors. If you have a sponsor in mind who may not be aware of our Annual Conference, please forward them our website information so they can participate contributing to CYPCLC in a meaningful way. Scholarship awards will be announced no later than December 2nd, 2017.
